We are happy that a Regional Congress of the World Association of Social Psychiatry will be held at Kochi, India on Dec 8-9, 2018. This is a an event of major significance as it is the first such Regional Conference to be held in South India.

As you might have known, the 22nd World Congress of Social Psychiatry held at New Delhi (Nov 30th - Dec 4 2016) was a resounding success with the participation of 1100 delegates from 50 countries. The 23rd WASP Congress will be held at Romania in October 2019. Kindly reserve the dates in advance.

“Mental Health in a Healthy Society” is our slogan for this triennium. It underlines the importance of not only mental health but also of a healthy society which we should promote as psychiatrists and as mental health professionals.

Let me congratulate Prof Joseph Varghese, Dr Anoop Vincent and all our colleagues in the organising committee. We have no doubt, with your hard work and commitment, this will turn out to be an unforgettable event.
